Our Favourite Sustainable Kids' Brands

Sustainability is becoming more and more at the forefront of people's minds when they're shopping, especially with the truth about fast fashion becoming evident recently. Here at Little Lily & Co, sustainability is incredibly important to us, and we stock several brands who make a conscious effort to be ethical and earth-friendly. Today we wanted to share a few of our favourites, so you can shop safe in the knowledge that you're helping the planet!

First up is one of the most popular ethical children's brands around, Frugi. Frugi only use organic cotton grown by farmers they trust, their outerwear is made from recycled plastic bottles and they're always looking for new ways to innovate and explore. Frugi are also certified both by the Soil Association and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), so you know they're the real deal!
As well as being planet-friendly, organic cotton is also amazing for little ones' delicate skin. It's also super durable, so clothes can be passed on and enjoyed time and time again!

Blade & Rose are a fab company who make fun legging sets for babies and toddlers; while not all their pieces are organic, they do have several designs which are, plus their brand new raincoats are made out of recycled plastic bottles! How amazing is that?
Blade & Rose also put great value on their suppliers and factories, working closely with them to ensure everything is running smoothly and ethically; their main supplier is also a family business.

Another amazing organic brand, Kite are passionate about protecting the planet. All of their garments are made from organic cotton, recycled plastic bottles or fabrics approved by OEKO-TEX.

Kite are also certified by Control Union to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). GOTS is the leading organic textile standard and companies must meet strict environmental and social criteria to become certified.

All Kite's clothing has been crafted with the utmost care to ensure durability, so you can pass items on when your little one has outgrown them.

Oli & Carol make the coolest natural teethers for babies, and fab bath toys too. They're an environmentally friendly brand which works to offer plastic-free toys and teethers. All their items are made from 100% natural rubber from Hevea trees, which is super flexible and soft. There are no holes in the toys, meaning harmful bacteria can't get inside.
Oli & Carol also contribute to Oceana, donating profits to raise awareness about respect for planet Earth. They provide schooling for children in India who cannot afford basic necessities, and provide benefits for research into childhood cancer and ALS.

Mayoral are working hard to become a fully sustainable company; their aim is to be much more than a conscious company, and they wish to contribute to raising environmental awareness in society. Mayoral have a range of clothes called #Ecofriends, which are made using organic cotton and other sustainable fabrics. Their latest collection is 35% sustainable and their aim is to increase this season by season.
