Llandudno, a charming seaside town in North Wales, is the perfect destination for a summer holiday. With its stunning coastline, rich history, and diverse attractions, Llandudno offers something for everyone. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, here are some must-do activities to make the most of your summer holiday in Llandudno.                       


1. Stroll Along the Victorian Pier
Start your adventure with a leisurely walk along Llandudno Pier, the longest in Wales. This iconic structure, dating back to 1878, offers stunning views of the sea and the Great Orme. Enjoy traditional seaside activities, indulge in some fish and chips, or simply relax and watch the waves.
Walk down the famous pier to see what is has to offer, with arcades a Ferris Wheel and Kids Funfair Rides, you are sure to keep your little ones entertained here. The Great Orme is a massive limestone headland that dominates Llandudno's skyline. There are several ways to explore this natural wonder:
  • Tramway Ride: Take the historic Great Orme Tramway to the summit for breathtaking views.
  • Hiking: For the more adventurous, there are numerous walking trails with varying levels of difficulty. Don’t miss the Great Orme Mines, the world’s largest prehistoric copper mines.
3. Relax on the Beach
Llandudno boasts two beautiful beaches:
  • North Shore Beach: Known for its wide promenade, this beach is ideal for families.  
  • West Shore Beach: Quieter and more serene, this beach is perfect for windsurfing, kitesurfing, and watching the sunset. 
4. Visit Llandudno's Unique Attractions
  • Alice in Wonderland Trail: Llandudno has a unique connection to Alice in Wonderland. Follow the trail of statues and installations dedicated to Lewis Carroll's classic tale, which was inspired by Alice Liddell, who holidayed here.
5. Enjoy the Gardens and Parks
  • Happy Valley Gardens: Located at the base of the Great Orme, these beautifully landscaped gardens offer a peaceful retreat with exotic plants, sculptures, and stunning views.
  • Haulfre Gardens: These terraced gardens provide a tranquil setting with lovely walks and an array of flora.
6. Indulge in Local Cuisine
Llandudno has a variety of dining options to suit all tastes:
  • Fish and Chips: No trip to the seaside is complete without sampling this classic dish. Visit popular spots like The Cottage Loaf or the award-winning Fish Tram Chips.
  • Welsh Cuisine: Try traditional Welsh dishes at local pubs and restaurants. Don’t miss out on Cawl (a hearty stew) or Welsh rarebit. There are lots of fantastic independent  cafes and restaurants around Llandudno which are family friendly. 
  • Fancy something sweet?  Llandudno offers a lovely selection of independent ice-cream shops including Fortes Ice Cream Parlour, you must try their crepes. 
7. Take a Day Trip
Llandudno's location makes it an excellent base for exploring North Wales, grab your summer essentials and Igor Sandals to take a day trip over to another nearby town: 
  • Conwy: A short drive away, this historic town features the impressive Conwy Castle and well-preserved medieval town walls. 
8. Shop Local
Llandudno's Victorian shopping streets are perfect for a leisurely shopping spree. Discover unique boutiques, antique shops, and local markets where you can find everything from souvenirs to handmade crafts and independent shops, visit the Victorian Shopping Centre located in the heart of Llandudno with a range of independent  shops and eateries, you must come and visit us while you are in Llandudno.

9. Play Centres in Llandudno 
The weather may not be great but there's still lots to do in Llandudno on a rainy day
